Our Daughter-Gift from God

After 10 years of marriage without kids due to fertility problems, we really want to start a family, fill an empty space in our lives, and we started to think about the adoption. We asked some friends about their experience adopting a child from Russia with different agencies. When we met those children, we received a touch of love and had no doubt that the best decision of our lives was the adoption. Based on their experience, we realized that the best option was Adopt-A-Child, Inc. On October 2007, we visited the agency in Pittsburgh to meet the staff and had a meeting with Sofiya and Laura. The experience was excellent; they answered all our questions and they are wonderful persons. The adoption process was very clear and they guided us in every step.

On October 2007, we started the adoption process with the homestudy. On May 2008, we received the call from Laura with the referral for a beautiful girl of 11 months. This moment was the most wonderful feeling that we ever had. Our first trip was on June 2008. We went to St. Petersburg, Russia. When we arrived to St. Petersburg, the driver assigned by the agency was waiting for us at the airport. St. Petersburg is a historical place, the weather was nice and the orphanage was very clean. The first trip was only 2 days but we had the opportunity to visit our child one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon. We will never forget when we saw her face for the first time; it s a wonderful experience. For us, she is the most beautiful girl in the world, she looks like an angel and immediately, we received a touch of God s love. I give thanks to God for the privilege of the love that our daughter is giving to our lives. Our daughter was excellent. At the beginning, she was shy but then, she started playing with us. At the end of the second day, when the caregiver took her back, she started to cry because she wanted to stay with us. This experience was hearth breaking.

When we returned home, we were very excited to make the next trip. At the end of July 2008, we were the proud parents of our daughter finally. The Court process was very significant for us; it changed our lives forever. We traveled from St. Petersburg to Moscow to finalize the adoption process. The whole process was only 9 months.

In both places, we had the opportunity to visit historical places with our daughter. The agency representatives and the drivers in St. Petersburg and Moscow are very friendly and diligent. They are with you every step of the way. They were a great help for us even when we have to order food, buy some clothes for the baby, etc.

Now, our daughter is two and a half, and she is a loving, smart, healthy and beautiful girl. After this wonderful experience, we realized why we were unable to have a biological child before and it is because our daughter is a blessing from God. We are very proud of our daughter.

If you want to give a child love and dedication; we strongly recommend adoption. You will have the opportunity to bless a child but the love that you will receive back from you child is Bigger; there is no difference between a biological child and adopted child in terms of love. These children deserve a family and you can make a difference!
